In her autobiography, Streisand returned to 1997, when she appeared on the television program “20/20”. During the conversation with the host, Barbara Walters, she talked about, among others: about the beginnings of her relationship with actor James Brolin. She admitted that their relationship was full of romantic moments, but one of them was particularly memorable. One night, when she noticed that her beloved was not sleeping, she asked why. He then replied that he “didn’t want to fall asleep because he would miss her.”

It so happened that the episode was watched by the then-acclaimed lyricist and composer, Diane Warren. Intrigued by Streisand’s story, she wrote down her future husband’s words on a piece of paper. When creating another song for Aerosmith, she decided to use them and that’s how the iconic “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” was born.
