Sławomir Turski began his adventure with television in the music game show “Jaka to melodia” broadcast on TVP. Later he started cooperation with TVN, joining the team in 2009. He appeared for the first time in the 10th edition, partnering on the dance floor with the famous swimmer, Otylia Jędrzejczak. Despite the viewers’ sympathy, the pair ultimately took 5th place, but the ambitious dancer’s career skyrocketed.

At the peak of his popularity, Turski unexpectedly withdrew from show business and disappeared from the screens. It turned out that on August 15, 2015, he had a serious accident at the Czorsztyński Reservoir. The media was full of rumors, as it was speculated that the reason was a thoughtless jump into the water, but the truth was completely different. – I entered the water, stood knee-deep in it and dived, just like I had done thousands of times before. This time I simply went too deep and hit the bottom with my head – in “Plejada”. His friends, who were observing the situation, reacted quickly and pulled him to the shore. A helicopter was called to the scene and he was transported to a hospital in Krakow, where he underwent a long and complicated operation.

However, the immediate intervention of specialists did not protect him from the consequences. As a result, Turski suffered a cervical spine dislocation and a spinal cord injury, which left him with quadriparesis. – I couldn’t move three of my limbs and could barely move my left arm. I was completely dependent on third parties because I couldn’t even turn from side to side, he recalled. Long but expensive rehabilitation was necessary, so the relatives started a collection to obtain the necessary funds to cover the costs of treatment.
Although more than 8 years have passed since the tragic events, Turski only recently realized that what happened to him was an unfortunate coincidence. – I struggled with my thoughts for a long time and wondered what had actually happened and whether my slight imprudence was really to blame. Now I know that it was just an unfortunate accident, he said.
The dancer has not fully recovered, as he uses a special walker to move around. Despite this, he does not give up and believes that one day he will stand on his feet again, and he has someone to fight for. During rehabilitation, he met Anetta Hoffan, with whom he found love. In 2022, the couple’s firstborn son, Konrad, was born.
