Kinga Zawodnik: It wasn’t easy for me

The athlete never hid from viewers that she had been struggling with weight problems since childhood. – For as long as I can remember, I have always been bigger. When I started puberty, my weight increased even more. Because of this, I had a difficult time. Primary school was the worst period because of the teasing and ridicule. […] Situations like this really toughened me up. I always had to cope somehow. I remember that the worst part was the taunts from the older boys. Then there was even fear that they might actually do something to me, she admitted in an interview with our website. You can read the entire interview here:

Recently, the player admitted on her social media profiles that she was struggling with a severe side effect of the surgery. In an honest entry, she revealed that she hoped that this problem would not affect her. We are talking about excessive hair loss. – Today I want to share with you something that worried me a little… – she began her entry.

– I thought this problem wouldn’t affect me, but it did. For about three weeks I have noticed that my hair is falling out. At first, it didn’t make me feel anxious and it still doesn’t, but I feel sad for a moment when I see how much hair is left on the brush. I know this will pass and that’s how it has to be for now. During a follow-up visit, I heard: “Ms. Kingo, most people lose hair in handfuls 3-4 weeks after the surgery, and your hair started thinning after three months. It will grow back in a moment, there is nothing to worry about,” she revealed.

The entry aroused a lot of interest. It turns out that this is a common side effect of gastric bypass surgery. “They fell out too. They grew back and it’s ok”, “Fact… They fall out… It bothered me too, because I always had long and thick hair”, “Don’t worry, they will grow back. I also have them falling out after surgery” – we can read in the comments section under the Facebook post.
