According to the website virtualmedia.pl, the event took place on Wednesday, November 15. At the same time, the KRRiT spokeswoman explained that the presence of the president of Polish Radio was nothing unusual, because apart from her, the president of Radio Łódź also appeared. It was only about verbally stating the reasons for introducing changes to the station’s programs.

Moreover, although Kamińska had already agreed on her program and financial plan in the summer of this year, there have been changes in it in the meantime. And they were the subject of the discussion. Although information about their introduction was announced to the Council in writing, its members requested oral explanations.

Less journalism and information. More music

And this modified plan of Polish Radio for 2023 is as follows: as reported by the portal press.pl, the number of hours of journalistic programs (by 719 hours during the year) and information programs (by 26 hours) was reduced in Radio Three. At their expense, the number of music bands was increased (by 494 hours). In Czwórka, aimed at young viewers, there were also changes: news programs were reduced by 76 hours, the number of entertainment programs increased (by 494 hours).

President Agnieszka Kamińska argued that the changes had to take place to regain the lost listeners. We are talking primarily about those from the younger generation. And this was the main argument for increasing the amount of music in Trójka.

The thing is that it is the end of the year, and the changes on the antennas we talked about concerned the entire year 2023. Due to the fact that the president did not inform us about the changes that were to take place, but rather told us why they occurred, we did not we have no choice but to accept these explanations.

– commented for the website virtualmedia.pl member of the National Broadcasting Council, prof. Tadeusz Kowalski.

The three of them are scraping the bottom. It is preceded by, among others, Radio Maryja

The President of Polish Radio announced that the correction introduced in the programming and financial plan is already bringing results. And what does the reality look like? Not very colorful. The listenership survey between August and October showed that Radio Trójka was in twelfth place, recording a drop from 2%. to 1.8. It was even overtaken by Radio Maryja. Pisces and youth don’t have a voice? The financial results of the station are equally poor – last year the station recorded the highest loss in many, many years. It amounted to as much as PLN 55.1 million. Interestingly, the station expected a worse result anyway. Was there an outburst of joy?
