The pride of an entire town will spread throughout Euskal Herria thanks to the 23rd edition of Korrikawhich will happen between Irun and Baiona from 1March 4 to 24 2024. Step by step and overcoming the obstacles that cross its path, Basque will travel through the seven provinces under the motto “Harro Herri”for eleven days.

According to AEK coordinator Ane Elordi, “these young people, at a decisive moment in their studies, decide to claim the linguistic rights that belong to them, knowing that this choice will have consequences on their academic career.” Therefore, with this tribute Korrika wants to be the speaker for the situation that these young people are experiencing.
The presentation ceremony of Korrika 2024 It took place at the San Telmo Museum in San Sebastián. There, they have announced the message, image and motto and they took a “great photo” “to show the strength and pride of the Basque community.”
The president of the Governing Council of AEK Aitziber Balanzategi has stressed that Korrika wants to be the “happy and firm cry of this town.” “We still have the boast of the previous edition nailed down,” he added.
Despite this, he stressed that we must not mix “pride with conformity”, nor forget the “great responsibility” that institutions have in the normalization of Basque. “Along with our efforts, it is necessary to invest in more decisive language policies,” he concluded.
