To win PLN 500, the “Millionaires” participant had to correctly complete a fragment of a poem by Adam Mickiewicz. “But revenge, although lazy, drove you into our nets; This inn is called Rome…” – here a well-known fragment broke off. The player quickly recognized the fragment of “Pani Twardowska”, but was not sure what the line sounded like.
Millionaires. The participant was eliminated after the first question, it concerned literature
By process of elimination, Mr. Przemysław chose the answer “C”, i.e. “the curse has been there for centuries”. Unfortunately, the correct version was “I’m putting you under arrest” and the player left the studio without any winnings. It turned out that this was not the last unlucky question about literature that the participants of this episode heard.
Next, next to Hubert Urbański, sat Weronika, the spokeswoman of the Wrocław ZOO. The first question she heard was about the meaning of the term “salt of the earth”. The participant correctly marked the answer “A”, i.e. “the most valuable units”.
To win the guaranteed thousand zlotys, Mrs. Weronika had to know or guess what “fridge and snowflake” were. The participant marked the answer “C”, i.e. “they come to Poland for the winter” and breathed a sigh of relief. For the next question, the player asked the audience for help and then marked the correct answer – you will pay for medicines with medicines in Albania.
An unlucky episode of “Millionaires”. The highest winning amounted to PLN 1,000
The five thousand zloty question was about the 1995 film. Hubert Urbański asked about the title of the black comedy, which is a short story written by various directors about New Year’s Eve stories that take place in a certain hotel. Fans of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez should have no problem with the answer, and so did Mrs. Weronika – she correctly indicated the “four rooms” option.
Like Mr. Przemysław, the second participant in the episode also failed on a question about Polish literature. “Who received a large sum from an unknown admirer of his work with the note ‘it’s nothing’?” – was the question. The participant used the “half and half” lifebuoy and then marked the answer “Wisława Szymborska”. The risk did not pay off, and Mrs. Weronika left the studio with a thousand zlotys.
