He left the Paranienormalni cabaret 6 years ago. Igor Kwiatkowski, in an interview with Marzena Rogalska in the “Rogalska Show”, revealed the reasons for abandoning the character of Mariolka Krejzolka, whom he played for many years and secured the sympathy of thousands of Poles.

Igor Kwiatkowski, a Polish cabaret artist, actor and songwriter. He is a chef by profession, but he has had many professions in his life, including: he was a warehouseman, a drinks salesman at a supermarket and a DJ at a radio station. He gained popularity and recognition for his performances in Kabaret Paranienormalni, which he founded in 2004 together with Robert Motyka and Rafał Kadłucki, where he created, among others, the character of Mariolka, Kryspin and others. After 13 years, in 2017, Igor Kwiatkowski left the group.

The reason was the decision to start a solo career. In an interview with Marzena Rogalska as part of the “Rogalska Show”, the comedian, when asked about playing the iconic character of Mariolka Krejzolka for so many years, revealed:

I didn’t abandon her. I broke up with her. I felt like I just outgrew the character. I felt like I was getting away with it, so to speak. […] and it would be useful to be such an authority for your own children. And what kind of authority could I be for my own children as Mariolka? Someone’s dad is a fireman or policeman, and I am […].

Igor Kwiatkowski’s wife is Barbara Kwiatkowska. The couple had two children – Maja and Wiktor. It is in their company that the comedian spends every free moment. In the same interview with Marzena Rogalska, he confessed how his own children react to his jokes and sense of humor.

I remember there was a time. I think that’s still the case, although I think they’re more understanding now that I was actually trying to joke. It was ‘Dad, take it!’ I say take it, it’s ridiculous. I say, child, you know that people pay money, buy tickets for my father to see me, and my daughter, while eating dinner, says ‘I am surprised at them’.
