In recent months, there has been a lot of talk about cabarets broadcast by Polsat on Sunday evenings. Initially, because of bold jokes about United Right politicians, which did not escape the attention of TV viewers and Internet users. Already then, Polsat removed several skits from its social media channels, but the real “revolution” came only around the parliamentary elections.
“Cabaret Live” was a viewership hit. However, Polsat took the program off the air
Then, all skits of the “Młodzi i Moralni” cabaret from recent months disappeared from the Polsat streaming platform and the station’s YouTube channel. There were comments on the Internet about “preventive censorship”, but real anger among TV viewers could be noticed only a week later, on October 22, when Polsat decided to completely remove the program from the air, without giving any reason.
A film was then shown on the air entitled “RIPD” from a decade ago with Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges, which failed to attract as many viewers as “Cabaret Live”. This was also noticed by the creators of the canceled program, who commented on it mockingly on social media. Let us recall that, according to data from September, Sunday cabarets attracted an average of 1.39 million people in front of TV sets.
The final decision not to continue broadcasting the program was made on Thursday, October 26. The cabaret artists then decided to publish fragments of sketches not broadcast by Polsat, which they called “those you will NOT watch on Sunday at 8 p.m.”
Polsat took off cabarets because of Tusk’s return to the Sejm? This is what Górski suggests
Now the leader of Kabaret Moralny Niepokoju, Robert Górski, decided to speak out. In an extensive post on Instagram, he again commented on Polsat’s decision. However, he also decided to refer to Donald Tusk, who has been rarely joked about in the program recently.
Ladies and gentlemen! I have good news for all those who told me: ‘Dear Mr. Robert, why do you keep tormenting the President, make fun of Tusk.’ Indeed, in recent years I have given the field to ‘Wiadomości’ in this respect, but today I would like to fulfill the requests and complaints of my critics. Well, I’m going back to ‘Government meetings’ with Tusk as prime minister. And I won’t pat him on the head like the President, no image warming and no attempt at understanding, no. If he just bends the stick, I will hit him with a satire stick – he announces.
The cabaret writer also shared his thoughts that Polsat’s decision may be related to the return of the head of the Civic Platform, Donald Tusk, to the Polish parliament. “By the way, now I understand why Polsat chased us away immediately after the elections. To avoid laughing at Tusk. They sensed the wind of change well. This does not change the fact that the President is still in power. So the series ‘With Andrzej na skiing’ will be valid for another two years,” he added.
At the very end of the post, he invited all Internet users to check out his own radio play with the new “Government Meeting”, which can be listened to on Górski’s YouTube channel. Internet users reacted to this news with enthusiasm, but they would rather watch the skit than just listen to the sound.
