Don’t fall for the bottle. How to distinguish a fake Black Friday promotion?

Black Friday is a great opportunity to shop at promotional prices. Stores do a lot to encourage us to spend money and boast of increasingly lower discounts. However, it is worth being vigilant so as not to fall for a fake promotion.

Although Black Friday was not very popular in Poland a few years ago, many people now wait for special promotions offered by stores. On November 24, we will be able to buy products at lower prices, but before we make a decision, we will be careful and vigilant, because sellers have many ways to trick us.

Before you buy a product at an attractive price, check how much it previously cost. The Omnibus directive proves helpful

Do you see an effective promotion and a product at an attractive price? You better be careful, because many sellers deliberately raise prices before Black Friday to lower them later. Fortunately, most stores comply with the policy introduced in January 2020. It obliged stores to inform customers about the lowest price applicable within 30 days. Thanks to this, we can see whether the product is really discounted and the amount you should pay for it is actually a bargain. Unfortunately, although compliance with the Omnibus is mandatory, not all stores comply with this order.

Be vigilant and do not buy on impulse. How not to be fooled by Black Friday promotions

However, stores find many ways to circumvent the directive and artificially manipulate prices. Before you buy a given product, check its prices in a price comparison website or on the websites of other stores. If they are higher, it means that we are dealing with a real promotion. Let us also remember that on Black Friday we have the same rights as during normal shopping, so we can complain about the purchased product or return it within the deadline set by the store.
