Elżbieta Śmiarowska’s television career began right after her marriage to Krzysztof Materna. During this time, his position in the industry was unshakable. He was considered one of the best presenters and also served as the artistic director of festivals in Opole and Sopot. When he started applying for a job for his wife, no one was surprised. After her debut on screen, viewers quickly fell in love with her and it was even said that she had a chance to become Krystyna Loska’s successor. She appeared in many programs, co-hosted the first four editions of the Castle Meetings “Let’s Sing Poetry” with Materna, and also acted alongside him as a presenter, hosting festivals and other musical events. She even played an episode in the series, and thanks to her exceptional beauty, she was also featured on the cover of the then prestigious “Ekran” magazine.
Materna was ready to do anything for his beloved. When they didn’t see each other for a long time due to too many duties, he boarded a plane just to eat dinner with her.

His comment shows that she moved to London, where she remarried. She would die in a house fire shortly thereafter. However, this information was not confirmed by anyone close to her.
