Felipe Colombo is in Ecuador: It’s good to see that ‘Rebelde Way’ has a new audience that lives like it used to

Felipe Colombo continues to steal the hearts and sighs of hundreds of fans. His time in the most famous television series – from the youth of many – is marked forever, because from arrived in Ecuador this Wednesday, November 8, to participate as a special international guest at the Wow Expo Fest social networks exploded.

Former Rebel way, Little ones moreover, he presents himself as a being who has never stopped doing art, because it is something he loves. It will last from today, Friday the 10th to Sunday the 12th pop culture festival to share with his followers at the Arena Park in Samborondón.

What happened to Felipe Colombo, the actor from ‘Rebelde Way’, who is coming to Wow Expo Fest Ecuador?

The Mexican actor is honest and speaks in an interview with Diario EL UNIVERSO about his arrival in the country, all the memories he made over time, his current projects and family times.

How has Ecuador treated you so far?

Incredible. Arriving at the airport was wonderful. As soon as I went through immigration, people from the police came, one even came, approached me and asked for a photo. Obviously I said yes, already Later when I came out, there were people and they were giving us gifts. And I say no because they also sent my daughter gifts. Ecuador is a wonderful crowd. So it was very exciting to rediscover it and throughout the trip I was reminiscing and thinking about the last time I came, and I did not expect to find such a welcome.

Are you used to this kind of reception?

Fortunately, this has happened to me at different stages of my life, but you never get used to it, it’s not normal. I always really enjoy it, I never understand what’s going on and I’ve learned that I don’t have to try to understand it, but to enjoy it because it’s beautiful. Because I’m doing something that I love and that has the effect of making people like you, want to see you, take photos of you, listen to your songs or whatever is really exciting. I thought it was something wonderful and I am very grateful, so arriving and being greeted at the airport is always so excited very nice.

You have been in the world of entertainment since you were young, did you expect the kind of success you will achieve?

I have worked in Mexico since I was 6 years old.in Television and so on, but when I arrived in Argentina after working Little ones and I saw what was happening in the Gran Rex theater, I said: “Woof, “This is very impressive.” Later when I went out to this place and when the project started Rebel waywe took it as “let’s see what happens, let’s see where this goes.”because they did not want to show this series on one of the most watched channels in Argentina, and the country was in the middle of an economic crisis.

Cris Morena leaves the channel she has been on for years and opens her own independent production company. We were a smaller team then, But we pushed it forward and all of a sudden it grew and expanded and became crazy and something amazing. Even today it seems wonderful to me.

What memories or anecdotes did he leave you with? Rebel time?

Well, I remembered one time when we got here with the kids in Ecuador in 2003 or 2004 and we had to go through the runway because we couldn’t go through the main gate of the airport because people were being sent by bands with suitcases (laughs), also that on one occasion Benja (Benjamín Rojas) threw the interior out of the hotel window and there were people there, so chaos ensued. The police came to scold us for that. I still don’t believe it.

What is Manuel in you?

Humor, I think we share a lot. Some of the jokes he made were in my mood, but now, 20 years later, it’s hard. I tried to put together a character that was really very separate from who I was. We wanted to do something that would distract us as actors. The feeling of friendship, of seeking to be a team with those around me is something that gives me life and that I take away from Manuel, because he had enough of that in his personality.

It’s been 20 years since the premiere of the series, how can you accept that there are still hundreds of old and new fans?

In this environment, it is sometimes known that each type of product has a certain shelf life, right? About five, six or seven years. But It’s good to see that there is now a new audience that seems to live like they used to. Not only people who watched the series then remember. My daughter has classmates who watch the episodes and listen to the songs. Errewayso we did something good.

Are you still friends with your co-stars?

To this day we are all very close friends, the boys are practically my brothers. Benja wrote to me recently to see how everything is going, Cami (Camila Bordonaba) congratulated Aurora on her birthday the other day. We all love each other very much, and with the technical team as well, with musicians, with producers. I think that was felt in the program and I’m sure that this affection and those feelings were transferred to the audience. That was the spark that set Rebelde Way apart from other projects. The feeling of a team, friends, people who are trying to do something new and different was very felt.

Today: theater and music

He finished less than a month ago show comedy Edmond at the Alvear Theater in Buenos Aires. Felipe says it was an honor to perform and to have the opportunity to reopen an important cultural space that had been closed for almost ten years.

“My character was the writer Edmond Rostand. This is a story about the theater itself. The team was wonderful and made everything special, and those who came to see us reacted fantastically. The hall was full and they were laughing, they fell in love with the theater, as I love it.”

In addition to his acting life, he never forgets or leaves music aside. “It’s very close to me, in fact I already have an EP ready. My themes have been finalized for half a year. I have learned that he who embraces much does little, so I know how to act. My family is very present in this project of mine, with which I learned a lot. You always have to be curious.”

He loves all scenarios. “I love my job. I could tell you that Theater is what I have dedicated myself to the most in recent years because it gives me something physical that other things don’t give me, but I also like doing television because he has this vertigo, speed and approach to the audience that is different. Music seems to me like a very special language. because you can tell stories in different ways, I’m deeply passionate about composing, I can feel the drums playing behind and going through my body.” For these reasons, it is difficult for him to decide on one branch of art, because he lives in a unique environment in each.

The actor admits it at 40 years old, his reason and what is most important to him every day is his family. And he always has been since he met his wife, Cecilia Coronado, in 2007, in both positions. As a result of this relationship lasting more than fifteen years, his daughter Aurora, who is 14.

“My daughter has a very special and unique personality. She has very own goals that may have nothing to do with art, but there is always something. On the other hand, I know that she loves animals very much and that she is interested in being a veterinarian,” she says.

In the home they share, they live with their pet, the cat Frida, whom Felipe gives a smiling nickname the owner of the house. “We are her slaves, she is a kitten that we found and rescued on the street ten years ago and she immediately stayed with us.
