She revealed how to reduce laundry bills by 60%. Just one button

The washing machine is one of the most useful devices in the home. We throw things in, pour in the powder and forget that we just had a whole pile of dirty clothes. However, there is a downside – bills. It turns out that they can be easily reduced by up to 60 percent. And no, it’s not about hand washing.

There is a washing machine in virtually every home and many people cannot imagine life without it. However, among all the advantages, there are also disadvantages, namely bills. After all, the machine works for several hours a week, sometimes literally at full capacity. There is no way this wouldn’t affect the meter reading. Fortunately, there is a way that will allow us to save up to 60 percent on washing.

Just one button and your bills will skyrocket

We can find a lot of advice on home savings on the Internet. A TikTok user called budgetingmumofficial (i.e. saving mom) shared her way of not getting hit in the pocket with the next bill. It turns out that all you need is one button, which is located on the washing machine. Not everyone is aware that this option reduces utility bills.

As the author of the recording says, the most energy, and therefore our money, is required to heat the water in which our clothes are to be washed. So, in order not to grab your pocket nervously while looking at the bills, it is worth playing around with the temperature. Normally, we wash at 30-40 degrees, but it is worth changing this setting to an even lower value. A thrifty mother suggests that 20 degrees is definitely enough to remove everyday dirt and at the same time reduce water heating costs by up to 60 percent. The only thing worth remembering is to add a stain remover, thanks to which we will definitely get rid of stains. A bottle of liquid will last for many washing cycles and will save on electricity.

How to save on laundry?

The author of the recording shared additional tips. It is important to hang the laundry as soon as possible so that it does not start to smell bad and we will not have to wash it again. Instead of an electric dryer, which also consumes electricity, it is a good idea to hang the laundry on a standard standing dryer, or preferably – if possible – outdoors.
