“You’ve got a lot!” and “Wyrwa” are this year’s cinema premieres that were very popular with viewers. Those who missed the big screen screening can catch up. Both cinema hits with a galaxy of Polish stars are available on the platform.
“Wyrwa” directed by Bartosz Konopka (“Skazana”, “Lek zosci”) is a thoroughbred crime story in which one secret leads to another. The film is an adaptation of the best-selling book by Wojtek Chmielarz, the author of sensational stories loved by readers. Chmielarz is, among others, winner of the prestigious Grand Caliber Award for “The Takeover” and the Golden Bullet for “¯mijowisko”.
A mysterious death and a dangerous investigation
The action takes place in Warsaw and in the atmospheric Masurian outdoors. The beginning is dramatic. Maæk Tomski’s (Tomasz Kot) wife, Janeka (Karolina Gruszka), dies in a car accident. The man is devastated, he blames himself for his wife’s death, he assumes that she died because he told her to “press the gas” to get her home sooner from her business trip. The police report after the accident and the autopsy results are surprising. Maciek realizes that he really didn’t know much about Janka. He leaves his daughters in the care of his parents-in-law and investigates the circumstances of his wife’s death. More and more mysteries come to light, his private investigation becomes more and more complicated and dangerous. Maciek goes to Masuria, where Janka died. She meets there with a certain Wojnar (Grzegorz Damięcki), with whom Janka had something in common. Who contributed to Janka’s death? Before watching “Wyrwy”, it’s a good idea to stock up on drinks and snacks so that you don’t have to break away from this fascinating story even for a moment. An excellent, eye-catching and very dramatic role in “Wyrwa” was played by Tomasz Kot, who had already appeared in Konopka’s “Fear of Heights”.

Family, oh family! That is, what we are willing to do for money
is a black comedy full of surprises directed by Mateusz G³owacki. The director and author of the script dedicated the film to his grandfather Klemens G³owacki: “He played the lottery with the same numbers all his life. He was buried with the ticket. Mateusz G³owacki.”
We learn at the very beginning, in the first scene, that the lottery will be important for the plot of the film. We hear the words coming from the TV: “The drawing machine chamber is empty, the lock is being released…”. Then it is lucky for someone to draw six numbers. And at the table, during dinner, the very mature Józef Bednarski (Miko³aj Grabowski) proposes to his neighbor, Leokadia Iwañska (Iwona Bielska). There is a lot of joy, Leokadia accepts the engagement ring and runs to the kitchen for the second dish. At this time, the newlywed fiancé unfortunately leaves this world.

His children come from far away for Józef’s funeral. Daughter Halina (Izabela Kuna) with her husband Krzy¶k (Robert Wabich) and son Przemek (Micha³ Sikorski) and son Leszek (Rafa³ Rutkowski) with his wife Dorota (Sonia Bohosiewicz) and daughter Olą (Wiktoria Kruszyñska) . The children haven’t seen Grandpa Józek for a long time, but they hope to inherit his house and savings. And then surprise follows surprise. Unfortunately, the grandfather wrote not the will that the children expected. And for the last trip, Leokadia provided her beloved with a lottery ticket. She stuck the piece of paper into his jacket pocket. When it turns out that the numbers that Józef always bet on were chosen in the draw, the heirs decide to get a valuable ticket. There is no time to officially arrange the exhumation of their grandfather, they have to deal with it themselves. Unfortunately, the local parish priest (Marian Dziędziel) disturbs them a bit. The family unites in a wonderful way, because we know that family is the most important, especially when it comes to six million zlotys. How will it end? You can check this out on the CANAL+ online platform.
The film and TV series library contains many interesting titles for crime fiction fans. Apart from “¯mijowisko”, there are, among others: three seasons of the cult “Belfra” with Maciej Stuhr in the title role and the same number of seasons of the excellent “Kruk” with Michał Żurawski as commissioner Adam Kruk, a specialist in dark, complicated and eerily laced cases.
Comedy fans will have great fun watching “Emigracja XD” with Tomasz Włosok and Michał Balicki in the main roles. CANAL+ online also invites you to a new version of the hit series “The Office PL”. Things will happen in the Siedlce office of Kropliczanka that her not particularly hard-working employees have never even dreamed of before. And during a trip to Warsaw, it is worth visiting the Norblin Factory and taking a photo with the monument of the idiot boss, i.e. Michał Holc, CEO of Kropliczanka. It’s worth hurrying here, because the monument to this professional president will not stand there forever.
