Fraser got hit for these words in “The Bloody Moon”

Brendan Fraser faces criticism after the premiere of “The Bloody Moon”, where he played the role of loudmouth lawyer WS Hamilton. The Oscar winner, in turn, is defended by the film’s director, Martin Scorsese, who does not agree with the comments regarding Fraser’s acting.

Just a few months ago, critics praised his exceptional performance in the film, for which he received the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2023. Shortly thereafter, he appeared in Blood Moon, and critical enthusiasm waned when he appeared on screen as the boisterous defense attorney WS Hamilton.

Brendan Fraser was criticized by critics. There was one line in “The Time of the Blood Moon”

Brendan Fraser particularly liked the scene in which his character exclaims in the courtroom: “This man is my client!” Some viewers and critics found the actor’s role too artificial. The film’s director, Martin Scorsese, defended Fraser. He talked about cooperation with the Oscar winner during a press conference, fragments of which were quoted by “LADbible”.

“We thought he would be great for the role of a lawyer. I had admired his work for years. He actually participated in the shooting for about two weeks, towards the end of our work on the film. We worked very well, and he got along especially well with Leo DiCaprio,” he admitted. Martin Scorsese.

The director also referred to a line criticized by many people, which was said by Fraser’s character during the court trial shown in one of the final scenes of the film.

“When we heard that line… He focused the whole scene on Leo. It was perfect. When we shot it, he filled the whole screen. He’s a great actor and he was great to work with,” added Martin Scorsese at the end.
