“We’ve been married for two years. We can’t afford a loan or a child. Life is vegetation.”

“I thought that adulting would be much easier. We have been married for two years. Our parents helped us to a large extent in organizing our dream day. The costs were high, but we didn’t think about it that way back then , how support was pouring in from almost every side. Now, when the purchase of the first apartment appears on the horizon, thoughts about a child and the desire to travel, instead of enthusiasm, the only expression on our faces is terror.

Inflation affects both young and seniors. Rising prices in stores and unchanged wages mean that it is simply impossible to save money these days. Many young people want to buy a flat, but given the current reality it seems simply impossible.

Government programs guaranteeing cheap loans or supporting the purchase of the first apartment drive the market, so prices are absolutely horrendous. Some interested people therefore turn their attention to the secondary market. However, prices are also rising there, although slower than in the case of “M” from developers. And without a permanent home, it’s hard to think about children or constant traveling and a carefree life. One of our readers shared her fears as an adult.

“When the purchase of the first apartment appears on the horizon, the thought of having a child and the desire to travel, instead of enthusiasm, the only expression that appears on people’s faces is terror.”

I’m almost thirty years old. I thought adulthood would be much easier. We have been married for two years. Our parents largely helped us organize our dream day. The costs were high, but we didn’t think about it then, as support was coming from almost every side. Now, when the purchase of the first apartment appears on the horizon, thoughts about a child and the desire to travel, instead of enthusiasm, the only expression on their faces is terror. For now, we only look at friends who pursue their careers, fulfill their dreams, build houses and travel. We are a long way from that and I don’t know when things will get better. We do not envy, but only admire that it is possible.

We live from paycheck to paycheck because most of our salary is spent on rent and food. There is no way to save anything, and even if we wanted to take out a loan, we won’t get it because we don’t have creditworthiness. We are also waiting to become parents because we do not want to raise a child in a rented apartment. I know we live without any prospects. She herself feels that life is vegetation, but this is the fate awaited by the government for young people. I think there are many families in a situation like ours. We don’t want to take money from our parents and we pretend that we’re scraping by, but the truth is that we’re barely making ends meet. I’m probably writing this to ask if we’re the only ones with this problem. How to start enjoying life and being satisfied? This question is still on my mind.

Weronika.
