In the band, she met her future husband, Stanisław Santor, whom she married in 1958.
After 19 years of marriage, the couple divorced. Although many years have passed since then, it was only in 2021 that the artist admitted that they were expecting a child in 1959. Their daughter, Sylwia, died on February 6, just two days after her birth. – I haven’t talked about it my whole life, it’s my very intimate story and a private matter – she recently admitted in an interview with “Dobry Tygodnik”, quoted by the portal.

Three years later, on November 5, 1961, she was a passenger in a car driven by Jerzy Abratowski. The vehicle skidded and hit a tree, as a result of which the second passenger and his wife died. The artist suffered minor injuries. In later years, Irena Santor became involved with the actor and lawyer Zbigniew Korpolewski, with whom she lived in an informal relationship. The man died in 2018. In 2000, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but thanks to its detection at an early stage and immediate treatment and surgical removal of the tumor, the artist recovered. She did not hide her illness from the beginning, and also became involved in a campaign aimed at encouraging women to undergo regular examinations. Two years ago in July she officially ended her career, but she still appears in the media.
