“Terrfier 2. The Massacre of Christmas” is one of the most famous of this year, mainly due to the unfavorable opinions about the plot circulating on the Internet. American viewers called it “brutal” and “disgusting”, and the media began to receive information about more people who fainted, vomited or required medical attention during the cinema screening. Negative reviews, in turn, resulted in the growing popularity of the title, which earned as much as $15 million on a budget of only $250,000.
The creators of “Terrfier” will make another part. It’s supposed to be worse than the previous one
However, the film’s director did not rest on his laurels and has already announced the next part of the “Terrfier” series. Damien Leone plans to make an even more brutal and twisted horror film than the previous one, but Hollywood studios are not particularly keen on his prospect. “I met with various Hollywood studios who wanted to make the third part of Terrifier… They were worried about the level of brutality. I knew… they wouldn’t let me make this movie based on the first five pages. That’s how crazy it is,” said the director in an interview with Deadline.
The director of “Terrfier” treated the opposition to Hollywood studios as a motivation to act. He decided to make the next part of the horror movie on his own. “I guarantee you that the first five minutes of this movie will be very controversial. But it’s not even the biggest murder scene. That’s why I thought I had to make this movie myself, because it’s just too… too crazy,” he concluded.
“Terrfier” made a sensation overseas, but in Poland it could not count on such a large audience. A year ago on Contrary to appearances, there are fewer moments when you could actually reach for a paper bag for vomit than the filmmakers announced. Although each of us has a different sensitivity to this type of images in horror films, Damien Leone will certainly have to try to ensure that his new production deserves the title of “the most brutal”.
