Hanka Ordonówna was born Maria Anna Pietruszyńska, the daughter of a railway worker. Already as a teenager, she performed in a theater and it was there that she adopted her stage name. Her debut as a singer was not warmly received by critics at the time. – As for Mrs. Ordonówna, I am of the opinion that cats and children should not be shown on stage – said one of them.

She was left with a scar from her first lover. Her husband became a count, and their relationship was a “mesalliance”
Ordonka took her first steps on the stage when she met Janusz Sarnecki. The actor became her mentor and first lover. He wasn’t the most faithful. Their stormy romance ended when Sarnecki married Janina Fruchtmanówna. Ordonówna tried to take her own life out of despair. The gun bullet missed and wounded her in the temple. The scar reminded her of her first unhappy love for the rest of her life, and Ordonka skillfully covered it with her hat.

While she was healing the heart broken by Sarnecki, the announcer Fryderyk Járosy stood in her way. They moved in together, he changed her stage image and made her a star of the Qui Pro Quo cabaret. There was one problem – Járosy did not intend to leave his wife. When it turned out that another woman appeared in the triangle, the couple broke up. To the twisted explanations, Ordonówna only replied: “If you don’t like the cheese, then get out.” In 1929, after one of the performances, she met Count Michał Tyszkiewicz. A year later he asked her to marry him.
No one in the family could imagine that Michał would commit such a misalliance
– Anna Mieszkowska in the biography “Hanka Ordonówna. Love will forgive her everything.”
Her husband forgave her betrayals, and she followed him to Moscow. She survived Pawiak and the stay in the labor camp
They married in 1931. After the wedding, however, Ordonka did not shy away from betrayals. One of her lovers, rejected, was about to commit suicide. Another, after breaking up, sent all love letters to the artist’s husband. Tyszkiewicz loved his wife and forgave her a lot. Among the artist’s lovers was Igo Sym, with whom she appeared in the film “The Masked Spy”. Even before the explosion, he was a Gestapo agent. The romance did not last long, and soon, on board the “Batory” sailing to the United States, Ordonka met Jan Strzembosz, with whom she met again in the 1940s.
After the outbreak of the war, Igo Sym encouraged people to appear in Nazi productions. Ordonówna refused and soon the Gestapo knocked on her door, some believe, because of her lover. She was arrested for alleged spying for England. Tyszkiewicz tried at all costs to get her out, first from Aleja Szucha, and finally from Pawiak. It succeeded in 1940, not without the intervention of the King of Italy, Victor Emmanuel III, with Adolf Hitler. But the couple’s peace did not last long. In 1941, the count was sent to a Moscow prison. Ordonka tried to seduce an NKVD officer and free her husband. Eventually she ended up in a state farm. Before the war, she contracted tuberculosis and miraculously survived her stay in the labor camp. Eventually, both Ordonówna and Tyszkiewicz regained their freedom. Ordonówna died on September 8, 1950. The cause of death was typhus, which she contracted from her husband. The body, weakened by many years of fighting tuberculosis, was unable to defeat the disease. Tyszkiewicz died 24 years later.
