As La República announced on October 23, the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) announced the restart of the massification of natural gas in the regions of Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacnathrough projects financed with resources from the Energy Social Inclusion Fund (FISE).
On October 31, the bidding process began so that companies that have “experience, operational and economic capacity” to execute massification projects can participate in the Natural Gas Supply Promotion Program with FISE Resources in the south west concession, temporarily administered by Petroperú.
“The bidding process includes the engineering service and seeks the construction of civil and mechanical works, testing and the gasification of 149.80 kilometers of natural gas distribution networks,” announced Minem.
The tender in the towns of Arequipa, Ilo, Moquegua and Tacna will allow 12,118 new users to connect, who will now enjoy cheaper and more affordable energy for cooking food, business development and vehicular transportation, among others.
The 2023 Annual Promotions Program has budgeted for the regions of Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna, more than S/173 million for the connection of 21,800 new residential users, construction of 300 kilometers of networks, as well as, for the connection of soup kitchens, hostels and Mypes.
At the same time, Minem has two tenders in process for the selection of gas installation companies interested in participating in the BonoGas Program in the Piura Concession and in the South West Concession, for the connection of approximately 7,807 new users.
