Today was one of the most important days for Leonor, Princess of Asturias, on her way to becoming the future Queen of Spain. On her 18th birthday this Tuesday, October 31, the daughter of King Felipe de Borbón took the oath to the Constitution, an act that gives her the legitimacy, with her majority, to automatically assume the functions of queen in the event that Felipe VI did not fulfill his duty.

On this historic day for the young woman, when the attention of her homeland, the nobility and the rest of the world was focused on her, her mother, Queen Letizia, did not want to take an ounce of attention away from her.

Queen Letizia achieved her goal by recycling the blue dress she had already worn on an official trip to Berlin a year ago. During the welcoming ceremony in the German city, the monarch wore an original blue Carolina Herrera suit from the 2013 collection. It is a midi design, short sleeves, with a teardrop neckline, dropped shoulder pads and a waist belt. . The charm of the dress is in the flower-shaped appliqués on the front.

Doña Letizia completed her outfit with nude heels (rumored to be her secret to stylish legs) and Bulgari earrings.

For her part, Princess Leonor ditched the dresses for a flawless two-piece white suit, complete with a golden fleece lapel, which she got in 2018. It’s modeled by Sastreía Serna, the company in charge of making King Philip’s suits, which he teamed with a pair of heels brand Lodi d’orsay (with open sides), also white. (AND)
