Taylor Swift’s absolute record. She even pierced herself

On October 27, Taylor Swift released a new version of the album “1989”. Three days after the premiere, the artist is breaking popularity records on Spotify. She even managed to beat her previous achievement from 2002.

Just three days ago, a new version of the album “1989” was released. The artist decided to re-record her first six studio albums to obtain full rights to the songs she wrote. So far, the singer has already released three albums: “Taylor Swift”, “Fearless” and “Red”. Now it’s time for “1989”, which consists of her greatest hits, including “Blank Space”, “Shake It Off” and “Style”.

Taylor Swift broke the bank. This achievement will go down in Spotify history

After the release of “1989” in 2014, Taylor Swift achieved huge success. The album sold a record-breaking circulation of over 14 million copies. It also received 10 Grammy nominations and the titles of “Album of the Year” and “Best Pop Vocal Album”.

Meanwhile, it seems that the new version of “1989”, like the original album released by Taylor Swift, is breaking popularity records. This time, however, it is not about the number of records sold, but about plays on the streaming service. According to Spotify, thanks to the released album, the artist became “the most played artist in one day in the history of the service”. In turn, her album became “Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day in 2023.” In this way, Taylor Swift broke her previous record from 2022. Then the most played album in one day became “Midnights.”

Interestingly, due to the release of the new version of the album, the popularity of the old version of “1989” also increased. YouTube data shows that users generated 2.8 million plays of songs from the old album.

Taylor Swift decided to re-record her albums as a result of a conflict with Scooter Braun, who purchased Big Machine Records in 2018. This fact did not please the artist, who had been recording albums in consultation with the label since 2005.
