Price increases on Disney+ have become a fact. Some time ago, the platform announced far-reaching changes, including an increase in monthly subscription fees. It previously cost PLN 28.99, but from November 1 it will increase to PLN 37.99. The price increase will affect users throughout Europe. In some countries, the service has also introduced two new packages: a subscription with ads and a premium plan with 4K content. The price increase may prove painful for users, especially since Disney+ also announced its fight against account sharing. These changes are expected to come into force in 2024. Netflix had previously taken such a step and introduced an additional fee for adding a user from another household.
How to avoid price increases on Disney+?
Due to price increases, Disney+ has prepared a special offer for users. Only until the end of October, subscribers can purchase the annual package at the old price. After October 31, 2023, its price will increase from PLN 289.90 to PLN 379.90.
The website also prepared a modified subscription agreement, which was sent via e-mail to all existing users. The document states that changes in the fees are, among other things, caused by rising distribution costs, including customer service and marketing, as well as an increase in administrative costs.
Disney+ is a distributor of productions from Marvel, Disney, National Geographic, Star Wars, Pixar and 20th Century Studios. According to Mediapanel, 4.6 million Polish users used the website in September.
