Some time ago, Polish Television announced the end of production of “Polish Feast” at the end of October. This happened despite the fact that in August, the head of TVP, Mateusz Matyszkowicz, declared that the music show would be broadcast “as long as the open air allows it, i.e. until mid-November.”
“Polish Feasts” comes from a German program “somewhere” – says the head of TVP
The last episode was hailed as a “family feast”, and the concert will be held in Chrzęsne. The event will feature performances by: Kasia Cerekwicka, Tomasz Szczepanik with the Pectus band, Łukasz Zagrobelny, Filip Gurłacz, Jerzy Grzechnik, Olga Szomańska, Dariusz Kordek, Natalia Krakowiak, Łukasz Drapała, Józefina and the Kukla Band conducted by Zygmunt Kukla.
The program appeared on the TVP2 schedule in June 2023. Mateusz Matyszkowicz was very pleased with his concept and did not hide his admiration for the program at one time. “There is no format in Poland in which people really sing together,” he said, then added that there is a similar program on German public television entitled “Lustige Musikanten”, which is an attempt at singing together.
It has been a hit on German television for decades. Our program will not say that it is modeled on “Lustige Musikanten”, but it comes from a similar idea somewhere – explained the head of TVP.
Some episodes of the program were highly criticized. One of them is the one in which Ewelina Lisowska appeared, which caused a wave of ejaculations, and those that were broadcast closer to the date of the parliamentary elections. Viewers then noticed that PiS candidates were particularly exposed in these episodes.
One of such people was MP and candidate for the Sejm Grzegorz Matusiak, who danced in front of the camera in a miner’s uniform. Moreover, the host of “Polish Feasts” was one of the biggest TVP stars after the so-called good change, i.e. Anna Popek.
