Journalists sympathizing with PiS are in trouble. They wrote a letter in which they oppose the “purges”

The open letter, written by media workers supporting the United Right government, was titled “the voice of the journalistic community in the face of the announced purges.” In it, propagandists warn against the opposition’s intentions, pointing to the alleged threat to freedom of speech. Thus, they appeal to their recipients for “strong resistance” to these actions. The letter was signed by, among others: the head of TAI, Micha³ Adamczyk, who is on leave.

On Thursday morning, the right-wing website owned by the Karnowski brothers published an open letter in which several dozen employees of public media or media subsidized by state-owned companies lament the changes announced by the future government of the three opposition parties. “We warn Poles – freedom of speech is under threat like never before! An important voice of the journalistic community in the face of the announced purges” – this is its title.

Right-wing media employees are afraid for their jobs. Moreover, they are “concerned” about freedom of speech

“In recent days, very disturbing statements have been made by representatives of political groups centered around Donald Tusk and their media base” – this is the paragraph that begins the letter in question.

Further on, those who signed the letter insinuate that journalists who do not support the opposition will be subjected to persecution, which they dared to compare to those that took place during the People’s Republic of Poland.

We hear scandalous announcements of political purges in public and private media. Journalists working in national and regional media are threatened with revenge. Proscription lists are being created for journalists who are to be effectively banned from practicing their profession. This is the first time such a situation has occurred in Poland since 1989 and resembles practices straight out of martial law.

At this point, it is worth recalling the words of right-wing commentator and TVP Info columnist Marcin Wolski:

And we have created – sorry, I say this as an accomplice – propaganda at a level worse than that of the 1970s. (…) The logic of struggle, Stalinist logic, won: whoever is not with us is against us

The open letter contains an appeal to readers. They ask for support against the “destruction of pluralism”

As you can see, his words did not make an impression on other journalists supporting the PiS government. Later in the letter we can read that the actions of “political forces that consider themselves winners of the elections”, including the announced “purges”, are intended to “completely eliminate freedom of speech and pluralism in Poland.”

Ultimately, they write that we are facing a “real regime” to “destroy the state and rob Poles in silence and with impunity, as has already happened in the past” and appeal “to all Poles for decisive resistance to this plan to destroy pluralism in public and private media.” .

The letter was signed by nearly 40 employees of public and private media, which are generously subsidized by state-owned companies. Noteworthy is the name of Michał Adamczyk, who is constantly on vacation after the September article by Onet, according to which he beat his lover years ago. Interestingly, the letter was not signed by the president of Telewizja Polska, Mateusz Matyszkowicz.
