Amy Beckley was having fun at the club. When her partner, former Derby County and Birmingham City player Shaquille McDonald, saw that she was talking to a security guard, he became furious and beat her. The footballer was sentenced last week.

Shaquille McDonald and Amy Beckley took a taxi home. The footballer allegedly hit his partner in the car, then imprisoned her at home and tortured her. The woman jumped from the balcony to save herself.

Shaquille McDonald was upset that his partner was talking to a security guard at the club. He became furious and forced her to return home, where dramatic scenes took place. The footballer, Amy, choked her, slammed her head against a concrete wall and called her insults. To escape from her torturer, Amy jumped from the balcony on the third floor and was helped by a neighbor. The woman posted a post on Instagram in which she describes the events of the terrible night.

In the early morning hours of March 4 this year. I was a victim of domestic violence which started in Birmingham City Center and then escalated in my home. He dragged me onto the property (…) and attacked me constantly. (…) He said he would call others to continue beating me. (…) I was sure he would kill me.

Amy added in the entry that she suffered two elbow fractures and numerous body and head injuries. She also admitted that it was the most difficult year of her life, filled with stress, pain and anxiety. If it weren’t for the people around her, she wouldn’t have dared to publicize the case.

The perpetrator was convicted. He pleaded guilty

Amy argued that the time she spent with Shaquille was filled with love and mutual respect. The couple had been dating for 6 weeks and there was no indication that the man had a problem with aggression.

As Amy reported in the entry, the footballer was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in prison. The man admitted to the alleged acts, which were recorded on surveillance cameras.
