This is because gladioli will not survive the winter if we leave them buried in the ground in the garden. Low temperatures and unfavorable conditions will quickly lead to the bulbs going to waste. Therefore, they should be dug up in good time and stored in a warmer place so that they can be put into the ground again during the season. How to store gladioli bulbs over the winter? It’s easier than you think

Before digging, shorten the shoots to a height of 15 cm above the ground. Afterwards, the bulbs should be gently pulled out of the soil, and if they are too deeply rooted, they should be gently helped with a spade. However, you must be careful not to damage them. The dug bulbs must be placed in a box and moved to a ventilated, warmer place such as a garage, where the temperature will be around 8 degrees Celsius. After 14 days, the bulbs should be cleaned and stored in this way throughout the winter until April, when they can be put into the ground again.
