They handed out 300 pizzas to those waiting in line to vote. Now they face hate. “Sad”

This pizzeria became famous after it delivered pizza to voters who stood in line to vote late at night in the Jagodno housing estate in Wrocław. Despite many positive words, they unfortunately also face enormous criticism, being told that they are “sellers”, “liars” and “fraudsters”.

We will remember the queue that formed to the polling station in the Jagodno estate in Wrocław for many years to come. This is where voters stood outside in the cold for long hours to cast their votes in the last parliamentary elections. At one point, the voters were supported by residents who offered them coffee and tea from a thermos and various snacks. One of the Wrocław pizzerias also made a great gesture and delivered about 300 pizzas, which everyone waiting could enjoy. – We didn’t do it to seek applause, but out of good heart and care for these wonderful people who decided to fulfill their civic duty above all else – the restaurant wrote on its Facebook profile.

A Wrocław pizzeria about the hate it experiences. “It’s terribly sad”

– Sadness… In the avalanche of beautiful words and things that you have been writing to us in recent days, we are receiving such comments and messages more and more often (with enormous intensity today). Humanly, we are sad because we love this country, we love people, we believe so much in human solidarity, goodness and selflessness. And in the last hours we have already heard that we are: Russians, German agents, envoys of the new government, fraudsters, thieves. That we did not deliver the pizza to Jagodno, but the German government paid for it. And these people were taken there by some buses – they wrote in a post on Facebook.

In their entry, they also asked for respect and a bit of empathy. They also noted that although “they have tried to avoid political topics for years,” they do not want to remain silent when “politics or its effects directly affect us.” – We want to oppose rudeness, lack of respect and insulting us, our clients, the inhabitants of Wrocław. We do not agree to this. It does not matter to us who our client is: German, French, American or Colombian. Woman, child or man. We respect everyone equally, we try to offer everyone our maniacal warmth and cordiality. And above all, good pizza. (…) We are not for any party. We even dream that politicians would just leave us alone and let us work. Just enough. Be good to each other! – they concluded.

Internet users reacted to the entry of the Wrocław pizzeria: “These are people who do not understand democracy and tolerance.”

There were many comments under the post from Internet users who once again showed incredible support for the owner and employees. Some emphasized that good things come back and it’s not worth worrying about, while others declared that when they visit Wrocław, they will definitely come for pizza.

Olewka. Do your thing <3

There are more people of good will

And when I’m in Wrocław, I’ll definitely come to you for pizza

I wasn’t in Jagoda, but I guess you didn’t ask who was voting for, basically – who are you voting for? – for X – and please, bon appetit – and who do you choose? – with Y – a no, I’m sorry, but you won’t get pizza. Don’t worry, good things come back

These are people who do not understand democracy, tolerance, spontaneous help without strings attached

It is very sad that someone writes such comments. You keep doing your thing. Good people are never forgotten

Don’t worry about it. Be the change you want to see in the world

Good defends itself. Share it anyway. You have many of our hearts with you

– they write.
