Disney is already a hundred years old. On this occasion, the short film “Once Upon a Studio” featuring a galaxy of stars from Disney animated films appeared on the Disney+ platform. Viewers can also enjoy refreshed cult titles, including the first full-length animated film in history – “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”.

October 2023 is an important month in the history of cinema. On the 16th day of the autumn month, exactly 100 years ago, The Walt Disney Company was founded. Since then, productions featuring such iconic characters as, among others, Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck entertain and move viewers of all ages.

“Once Upon a Studio” is now available on Disney+. This unique animation was created for the studio’s 100th anniversary

To celebrate this special anniversary, a special film was created. “Once Upon a Studio” will feature 543 Disney characters from over 85 feature-length and short films – heroes and villains, princes and princesses, sidekicks and wizards.

All this in brand new hand-drawn animation using computer effects to celebrate 10 decades of storytelling, craftsmanship and technological achievements. Mickey Mouse leads an emotional and joyful reunion of beloved Disney characters as they come together for a group photo celebrating Disney’s 100th anniversary. The short film was written and directed by Dan Abraham and Trent Correy and produced by Yvett Merino and Bradford Simonsen.

Classic animations in a refreshed version

To celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary, the Disney+ platform also includes productions from a collection of 28 classic Walt Disney Animation Studios short films, digitally restored. The short film package will include both popular classics and slightly less known titles created in the first years of the studio’s operation. We will see, among others, two titles from 1927: “Trouble with the Tram” and “Wet” with the participation of Oswald the Rabbit, but also classic productions from the “Silly Symphony” collection, such as “Dance of Skeletons”, “Mermaids”, “Wynken, Blynken and Nod” and “Ahoy Sailors” from 1956 with the adventures of Donald Duck and his squirrel rivals. There will also be a wide range of films featuring other beloved Disney characters.
