This year’s is a question mark. The event has been organized since 2004. In 2016, it was set in the capital of the Tatra Mountains, Zakopane, from where it was broadcast to viewers from all over Poland. According to the Business Insider website, the amounts allocated to the organization of New Year’s Eve could reach up to several million zlotys. Both stars of the Polish music scene and internationally famous artists were invited to participate in the musical event. Last year, the stage in Zakopane featured, among others, Sławomir and Kajra, Viki Gabor and the star of the event – Thomas Anders.
What do we know about New Year’s Eve?
At the moment it is not known whether the event will be organized. It’s the end of October, and there is still no word about New Year’s Eve, the preparations for which, due to the scale of the event itself, should have started much earlier. For comparison, last year the first information about this event reached the media in mid-September.
Agata Pacelt-Mikler from the department of physical culture and social communication of the Zakopane City Hall commented on the situation in an interview with Presserwis: There are no talks on the possible organization of a New Year’s Eve concert so far. TVP, as the organizer of the event, did not contact the city of Zakopane, the official said. She also added that the decision would most likely be made after the elections (she commented before Sunday’s elections). However, almost a week has passed since then, and New Year’s Eve still remains a great unknown for viewers.
