Sunday’s election night was one of the most exciting moments in the recent history of Polish politics. Voters of all parties waited impatiently for the results. The involvement of Poles was visible in the huge queues to the polls, which in many places stood even after 9 p.m. This year, a record number of Poles voted in the elections, the turnout was as high as 72.9 percent.

A change was visible in the behavior of the “Wiadomości” host. The journalist talked about the “celebration of democracy” and even interrupted the statement of the PiS MP.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Law and Justice won the elections, we are waiting for the final results, we will take steps to form a government for the next term. Thank you all for your votes,” Joanna Lichocka from PiS told the audience. However, no one explained that PiS’s percentage win does not mean victory.

According to the results of the IPSOS late poll, Law and Justice will not be able to form a government on its own, even if the party entered into a coalition with Confederation. The opposition consisting of the Civic Coalition, Third Road and the Left has a chance to gain a parliamentary majority. In total, the parties have 248 seats to allocate, which gives them an advantage in the Sejm.
Marek Sawicki from PSL was aware of Joanna Lichocka’s far-fetched joy, which she expressed on TVP Info. The MP did not wait until the politician finished her statement and started humming. He chose the chorus of a significant song by Mieczysław Fogg. “This last Sunday,” Sawicki intoned, clearly suggesting that PiS’s rule is coming to an end. “This is the last Sunday, tomorrow we are packing,” added the Third Way candidate.
The leader of the discussion was stunned, but it was difficult for her to remain serious. Holecka interrupted the MP’s singing: “Oh, let’s start singing” – she began to quiet the emotional exchange.
