Contrary to appearances, the problem with parking spaces applies not only to large cities, but also to smaller towns and villages when you have nowhere to leave your car, e.g. in front of a store. Apart from the fact that there are usually simply too few of them, and things are not made easier by the drivers themselves, who park inappropriately and therefore take up much more space (even two) than they need. Can we do something about this situation?

How to park without getting a ticket? The regulations are clear
Almost everyone has experienced a situation in which they noticed someone parked incorrectly standing on the lines and blocking two spaces. It is often revealed that the person who left his vehicle in this way simply did not understand the situation or was in a hurry and did not notice the line. It is also worth remembering that the direct blame for a car parked on the lines is not always its driver, but, for example, two others who have already managed to drive away.. However, they had previously blocked the parking lot so much that it was impossible to park in any other way than between them and on the line. Of course, regardless of whether incorrect parking was done consciously or not, such behavior may be punished with a fine.
As we can read in road traffic laws, we should park in such a way that among others do not hinder:
- exit or entry by others, e.g. from a garage, parking lot or gate,
- getting into another, properly parked vehicle.
In addition, you should pay attention to signs, including horizontal ones placed on the road. The Code of Petty Offenses clearly states that failure to comply with them is punishable by a fine or reprimand. So how much could it cost?
How much can the fine be for occupying two seats? It depends
for incorrect parking, the fine usually ranges from PLN 100 to PLN 300, but if you block or occupy a marked parking space for a disabled person, it will increase to up to PLN 1,200 and you will receive 6 penalty points. Importantly, services (mainly the City Guard) they can only issue a ticket for failure to comply with sign P-18. This only applies to places separated by a white or burgundy line. In the case of most housing estates, where for this purpose they use, among others, colored paving stones, parking on them is not an offense as long as it does not block the exit or access to other vehicles.
