She is the one who plans, manages and makes sure that her husband does not take on too many obligations and at the same time carefully fulfills those in which he decided to engage.
They immediately caught each other’s eye
The couple met in the 1990s when they both worked in radio. “This is a woman who charmed me,” Sekielski said in an interview for “Viva” in 2019. Tomasz knew immediately that she was the one. He considered himself lucky because not everyone manages to find the right person. However, he had to compete fiercely for a relationship with Anna with his professional career knocking at the back door. One day, when she invited him to her place, the boss called and told her to abandon her previous plans and go to the place he had indicated. Sekielski thought that his professional obligations would scare away Anna, but fortunately he was wrong. “She was understanding. We ate many breakfasts together and still do,” he continued in the interview.
Anna and Tomasz planned their wedding three times. They had to postpone the ceremony for the first time due to the visit of John Paul II in 1999. Sekielski was then delegated to cover the entire event. So the engaged couple set another date, which (which may seem unbelievable) they forgot about. “The priest called us on the landline, which was answered by Tomek’s brother. He said he didn’t know anything about any wedding and there was no bride and groom. Only the third time – in 2000 – did it finally work,” said Anna.
When the Sekielski family started a family, Anna decided to stay at home with the children. Tomasz emphasized that it was solely her decision, which he simply wanted to respect. The journalist believes that his wife, who is a professionally licensed PTTK guide, has great potential to work in the media. However, she does not intend to develop it because she is satisfied with what her life currently looks like. The Sekielski family found their place in the world in Drohiczyn on the Bug River, where they live with their children – Julia and Łukasz – and their beloved pets. Sekielski doesn’t tell his wife much about his work because, as he emphasizes, he tries to protect her from worries. So when one day Anna learned about the dangerous situation that had happened to Tomasz, she was not happy: She later said that it was rude to find out about it at a meeting with strangers – added Sekielski.
