Barbara Burska is a graduate of the Warsaw Theater School. Although she obtained her diploma in 1971, she made her debut three years earlier with a role in the film “Man from M-3” by Leon Jeannot. In the following years, she did not disappear from the screens. She has appeared in many excellent productions, the most popular of which include: “The stakes are higher than life”, “Chłopi”, “Far from the road”, “The career of Nikodem Dyzma”, and “The 13th precinct”.

Her success was determined not only by her undeniable talent, but also by her exceptional beauty. – We were all secretly in love with Basia – Jan Englert in one of the interviews. Out of the group of men surrounding her, this one caught her eye. At first, they were just friends, because she noticed his acting predispositions and motivated him in his preparations for theater school. Finally, there was a spark between them. They got married, but the relationship did not stand the test of time. They separated without regret after 2 years of marriage. – It was a beautiful period, but today it must be admitted that two children got married then. We were married for a short time, but we are still friends today – she said in an interview for “Angora”.
Soon, dark clouds also hung over her career. When she was cast as Irena Ochódzka in the cult “Miś”, many were almost sure that her popularity would skyrocket. However, this did not happen and the effect was quite the opposite. After the film’s premiere, viewers no longer liked her and were reluctant to watch films with her participation. Directors, not wanting to lose the audience, stopped working with them.
She found fulfillment in the theater. She found happiness and love with a doctor
After several failures, Burska realized that she had nothing to look for in the world of film. She moved into the background, focusing on her work in the theater. She performed on the stage of many theaters in the capital, including: Ludowy, Narodowy, Na Woli and Kwadrat. It is true that she appeared on screen occasionally, but mainly playing episodes. The last time viewers saw her was in “Na Signal” in 2018. Despite many difficult moments, fate finally smiled on her again. Privately, she found happiness with Jan Rajski, who was a doctor by profession. They met on the tennis court, it was love at first sight. Their relationship lasted 35 years, and their relatives claimed that they were role models. However, they did not have children, it was their conscious decision. Happiness was interrupted by the man’s unexpected death in 2015. – I miss him. We were very connected. It’s not easy to cope, but you have to live somehow – in “Rewia”. Today, Barbara Burska does not appear in public and enjoys a well-deserved recognition. On May 6, 2023, she celebrated her 76th birthday.
