Magdalena Scholl started on screen by accident. When she was 7 years old, a film crew came to the kindergarten she attended, looking for a little girl for the main role in the film “The Most Beautiful in the World”. She was one of the few invited to a casting, which she ultimately won, and that’s how her adventure with the camera began, lasting almost two decades. – I went there in checkered pants, covered in jam. It didn’t even cross my mind that they might choose me, she recalled in an interview for .
She was one of the most popular child actresses in the Polish People’s Republic. Despite the chances for a career, she chose a different path
Two years after her debut, she played the role of Beatka, affectionately known as Bąble, in the cult “The Leśniewski Family”. As one of the resolute twins of the titular family, she quickly gained viewers’ sympathy. She regularly appeared on screen alongside the biggest stars, including: Krzysztof Kowalewski, Anna Dymna or . Although she was considered a polite child, years later she admitted that working with her was not the easiest. – I was never a sweet child. I was always full of shit, she said with a laugh. In total, she created over 20 acting roles in films and series, such as “Królowa Bona”, “Jan Serce” (available on ), “Nad Niemnem” and “Nad Niemnem”.
Acting was her passion and a source of additional income, but not a life plan. To the surprise of many, instead of theater school, she chose the University of Łódź, where she began studying sociology. – I never had the urge to play – she claimed. Then she began to appear on screen less and less often, until finally, in 1991, she ended her career with a role in the film “On the River That Isn’t There”.
For years she couldn’t get rid of the “Bubble” label. Her sudden death was a shock to many
In the following years, she focused on her studies and defending her master’s thesis, which she wrote about Stanisław Tym, who was her great inspiration and authority. Although she considered her adventure with acting to be one of the best in her life, she had no intention of returning to the screens. – I met many fascinating people and those who showed me how to be unfascinating. Icons are not always golden. Very often they are rotten from the inside, and a simple guy with a hammer can be your best friend and a very wise person – she said on Onet. After obtaining her diploma, she found employment in the office of the Łódź Voivode in the communication department. Privately, she also had no reason to complain, because she got married and started a family.
However, it did not completely disappear from the public space. From time to time she appeared in show business, supporting, among others, colleague from the set, Agata Młynarska, in charity work. In 2014, she made her debut on the publishing market, publishing the book “Novicjusz”, but even this did not help her get rid of the “Bubble” label from “Rodzina Leśniewski”. – Even though I have played in over 22 films, I am still “Bubble” – she said in the “Dzień Dobry TVN” program in 2012. It was one of her last appearances on television. Magdalena Scholl died unexpectedly on September 27, 2019, at the age of less than 50. The family has not yet decided to reveal the cause of death.
