Alicja Julia Boratyn was born on November 27, 1992 in Łódź. At the age of 14, together with her friend Tola Szlagowska, she started singing in the youth band Blog 27, thanks to which she quickly became a teenager’s idol. The girls quickly gained fame and recognition both in Poland and abroad, including Japan. Their first album, titled ““, which produced such hits as “Uh La La La”, achieved double platinum status in the country. Unfortunately, despite the huge success, the girls’ paths soon diverged. Due to the differences between them, in 2006 Alicja decided to leave the band and she decided to pursue a solo career.

Alicja Boratyn did not abandon music. How did her fate turn out?

Just a year later, the artist released her debut pop-rock album, which she recorded with the guitarist of the band T-Love, Jacek Perkowski. Although the first single was received very positively, the entire album did not gain popularity. Despite this, Alicja Boratyn did not give up and kept creating. In 2008, she recorded songs for the TVN series entitled “Majka”, and in 2011 the song “Don’t ask me” won the Digital Song of the Year award. She disappeared into the background for the next three years, first returning as the vocalist of Wicked Giant, with whom she released a mini album, and later starting cooperation with another band.

She was once a teenage idol. What does he do today?

At the same time, in 2017, she started a completely new project. Together with Jakub Sikora, they founded the band Ala Zastary, in which they create traditional pop music with a touch of contemporary hip-hop, electronics and r’n’b inspired by films and everyday life. In 2020, they released the album “Jutro?”, which gained critical acclaim, and after a three-year break, they returned with a new album “Potwory”. Like themselves, they want to show that “pop doesn’t have to be boring or stupid.” Alicja Boratyn and Jakub Sikora are a couple not only on stage, but also in private.
