Disney+ filmed a German production about the Holocaust in Poland. The funds were provided by the Ministry of Culture

On November 15, the Disney+ streaming platform will feature a German miniseries about the Holocaust. The production received support from two Polish institutions, including the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and filming was partially carried out in Poland.

Like Disney+, a new miniseries will premiere on November 15. “In a German House” tells the story of Ewa, who is tasked with translating witness statements during a court hearing. The production starred Katharina Stark, Uwe Preuss, Hildegard Schroedter and Christian Hockenbrink. The series would not have been created without the support of the Polish ministry.

The producers received financial support from the Polish Film Institute – a 30% refund of expenses related to filming in Poland. “In the German House” was also financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The photos were taken, among others, in Krakow in 2022.

The series is an adaptation of the novel by Annette Hess. – We take up the great challenge of telling the story in a delicate, but also ruthless way – in an interview with Wirtualne Media. In 1963 in Frankfurt, translator Ewa began translating witness statements during a court hearing. Everyone close to her is against it, but she takes the job and, as it turns out, discovers something she had no idea about.
