The 2023 Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded
So far, there have been 17 women among the winners of the Nobel Prize in Literature, including two Poles: Wisława Szymborska and Olga Tokarczuk.
Nobel Prizes have been awarded since 1901. During a special ceremony attended by the Swedish royal couple, each winner is awarded a gold medal with the image of the prize founder and a specially calligraphed diploma. There is also a cash prize. For years, the amount was 1 million Swedish kronor (i.e. almost PLN 447,000), but in 2020 the Nobel Foundation increased this amount to 10 million kroner.
