The 2023 Nobel Prize in Literature is awarded to the Norwegian author Jon Fosse “for his innovative plays and prose that give voice to the unspeakable.” This was announced by the Swedish Academy, which was responsible for granting the award in Stockholm.
As the academy explains, this year’s literature prizewinner, Jon Fosse, writes novels very reduced to a style that has been dubbed “Fosse minimalism.” His second novel, ‘Stengd gitar’ (1985) is a clear example of this. With his writing, Fosse presents everyday situations that are instantly recognizable in our own lives.
