“Millionaires” has already had a total of over 1,300 episodes in Poland. Most participants are eliminated around the question for the guaranteed PLN 40,000 – only a few manage to exceed this threshold. However, Renata Maszewska, a chemical analyst from Płock who has been playing recently, managed to cope with it. A question from her own field defeated her.
“Millionaires”. Who was born in Buda?
Mrs. Renata’s problems actually started with a question for PLN 40,000. It was necessary to use two lifelines for the history question:
Who was born in Buda, although it is not known exactly when?
- A. Jadwiga of Anjou
- B. Henryk Walezy
- C. Władysław Warneńczyk
- D. Stefan Batory
After long consideration, a phone call to a friend and consultations with the audience, Mrs. Renata correctly marked answer A – Jadwiga Anjou. She also coped with the question on maritime law. And then she came across an issue from “her” field.
“Millionaires”. A permanent elementary particle
For a layman, the question about a persistent elementary particle may sound like a return to the nightmare days of high school. However, it would seem that the chemical analyst would have no problems. And yet!
A stable elementary particle belonging to leptons and a rare alloy of gold and silver are:
- A. proton
- B. neutron
- C. electron
- D. atom
Of course I should know it and all my friends from college are now rolling around laughing in front of the TV because I don’t know – Mrs. Renata laughed.
And then she answered incorrectly – it wasn’t about a neutron, but about it electron. And this is how she finished the game for one million zlotys: she returned home with a guaranteed PLN 40,000, which is still a really decent sum.
