Édgar Ávila Cruz, better known as Cruz Day, a talented Ecuadorian artist, has taken the music world by storm with his unique combination of talent as a singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist in the Latin pop genre. Born on August 18, 1994 in Guayaquil, this young prodigy started his musical journey at a young age.

At the age of 15, he was already immersed in his musical education, taking lessons in singing, harmony and music theory. His passion for music was influenced by his family environment; his father, a talented guitarist and singer, and his mother’s family, also with their share of musicians, provided him with the necessary inspiration to pursue his musical dream.

During his teenage years, Cruz Day immersed himself in Spanish-language music and found inspiration in iconic artists such as the group Sin Bandera and Luis Fonsi. What he was most passionate about were lyrics with a special message, an aspect that would later become a hallmark of his music.

In 2011, he took a bold step by forming his first music group EnRed in Guayaquil. This group presented a range of compelling themes: Sure, aimless, good, real, And When you play with fire.

As of 2020, Cruz Day took a turn in his career and went solo. Exploring new music genres with lyrics like Dance, waning moon And Tied to your scent.

He has not limited himself to winning only local hearts. Cruz Day has taken his music throughout Ecuador, performing in prominent venues across the country including Plaza Guayarte, Centro Cultural Alemán, Alianza Francesa and Teatro Centro de Arte. He also worked as an instrumentalist in theater group They and was a special guest on various radio stations, both AM and FM.

Currently, in addition to his musical career, Cruz Day works as a singing instructor in the Mi Cometa Sur movement of Guayaquil, in the project called Lirikpaz.

Through this project he shares his passion for music with children, adolescents and adults, on a non-profit basis, and provides valuable musical education to the local community.

His future promises more innovative music and a lasting impact on the music scene as he continues to inspire others with his talent and dedication to music and teaching.
