This Tuesday, October 3, the Vice Minister of Transportation, Ismael Sutta, inspected the progress of the air terminal works and confirmed that The first floor of the passenger terminal has already been completed and the second level is already in the final phase. The construction of the landing strip is in full progress. Currently, the land is being leveled to place the pavement structure, which is estimated to be ready in 2025. In addition, work is already underway on the ground for the foundation of the control tower that would be completed in 2024.

The terminal area for international flights will have 4 boarding lounges in a space of 10,800 m2. The passenger terminal for domestic flights will have 8 boarding lounges in a space of 25,000 m2 and will have 11 access rounds (8 national and 3 international). The project will require a total investment of S/2,553 million.

The mayors of Chinchero, Alcides Cusihuaman, and of Urubamba, Ronald Vera, accompanied the vice minister and the MTC technical team during the inspection of the aforementioned airport. During its tour, the MTC delegation also inspected the section where the road access to the Chinchero Airport will be executed, which will be 7.5 kilometers long.
