We go to the plot mainly to take a break from the noise. If someone lives in a big city on a daily basis, he or she appreciates the charm of an area away from the center where one can plant and build a small house. Some people like this idyll so much that they begin to consider moving. Is this even possible under the law?
When does the right to a ROD plot expire? Can PZD take it away from you?
Legally, every Family Allotment Garden belongs to the Polish Association of Allotment Gardeners. People who own a plot of land there sign a plot lease agreement. There are regulations on the ROD that every allotment holder should follow. If someone does not respect certain rules, the lease agreement may be terminated and the land taken away. The right to a plot also expires in the event of the death of the allotment holder or the liquidation of the ROD. One of the most serious violations that an allotment holder may commit is moving to the plot permanently. The regulations clearly state that this is prohibited.
Is it possible to register at the ROD plot? How long can you stay there?
You can live in the ROD only seasonally, i.e. from May 1 to September 30. The plots are intended for rest and recreation, not for residential purposes. You cannot move there for the whole year or register there. The plot or the house or gazebo located on it cannot be rented to anyone. It is also prohibited to build portable toilets, build a brick barbecue or shed, light fires, wash and repair cars, keep pets permanently or litter. All these things threaten to lose the allotment gardener.
