Despite the many problems that currently affect Polish society, the most important topic discussed by politicians of the ruling party is Agnieszka Holland’s latest film “The Green Border”. Right-wing politicians have repeatedly insulted the director, including: comparing her to the propagandists of the Third Reich, and calling the film a “slander” that attacks Poland and the “Polish uniform”.
The production was first presented at the Venice Film Festival, where it was awarded the Special Jury Prize and reviewers from all over the world praised the picture. However, this does not impress the members of the United Right or the employees of TVP Info, who devote valuable airtime every day to disgusting the viewers of this production.

In Saturday’s edition of the “Miłość 20” program, Magdalena Ogórek’s guests included Piotr Kaleta from PiS, Marek Sowa from PO, Paulina Piechna- Więckiewicz from New Left and Deputy Minister of Finance Artur Soboń. Already in the first minute, the hostess did not fail to ask what they thought about Agnieszka Holland’s latest film. Politicians from the ruling camp immediately stated that the production “hits the Border Guard officers who protect us.”
Marek Sowa from PO wanted to join the conversation, but Ogórek and Kaleta did not allow him to say a word. “You asked before the program not to interfere with someone’s opinion when someone speaks. I am asking you to also respect this in relation to opposition MPs,” Sowa said. Magdalena Ogórek decided to scold him:

When Marek Sowa said that he would not comment on a film he had not seen, Ogórek said: “We can judge some things without even watching them.” “They defend us and ensure our safety in an extremely difficult situation. Isn’t it painful?” – once again, Ogórek tried to take an opposition MP “for mercy”.
The Platform politician said that he “only saw a black picture.” – I haven’t watched the film, so I won’t review it. Each work usually evokes different reactions depending on who views it. […] Border guard officers are in a difficult situation. They must have their empathy turned off. They must ensure the tightness of the Polish border. It’s probably accompanied by great emotions. This is completely understandable to me, said Sowa.
Ogórek, however, stood firm in her opinion and attacked him with another question whether, in his opinion, Border Guard officers might feel offended by Holland’s film. “I’ll tell you how they feel. Today they learn not about Agnieszka Holland’s film, but about the fact that when they were closely guarding the Polish border, the mafia, an organized criminal group, was selling visas. Those who had money bought visas and entered to Poland. Over 250,000 visas,” said the opposition politician, which infuriated the host.

Later, Marek Sowa from PO and Piotr Kaleta from PiS started shouting over each other, so the host decided to interrupt their argument by asking the producers to play Minister Paweł Jabłoński saying that “work permits are not visas.”
It is worth mentioning that the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Piotr Wawrzyk, was dismissed from his position at the end of August and lost his place on the PiS electoral lists. It is said that the politician forced Polish diplomats to issue visas to the immigrants he indicated.
