Maciej Dêbosz and Anna Potaczek from the series “Detektywi” know police work inside and out. As former policemen, they see things from a different perspective. What do they say about today’s police activities?

Maciej Dębosz and Anna Potaczek easily played the role of officers in the series “”. They had been working in the police for years, and moving to a film set was a nice change for them. They no longer had daily stress and fear for their lives and the lives of their loved ones, and at the same time they were still close to what they had done before.

How do they perceive the work of policemen today, who are often criticized in the media for unnecessary brutality and serving the current government? In an interview with Plejada, they revealed what they think about the modern police.

In recent days, there has been a lot of news about MP Kinga Gajewska being dragged and dragged into a police car. The situation occurred in Otwock last Tuesday. The MP repeatedly said that she was entitled to immunity, but because her hands were tied, she could not show her parliamentary ID card. Her words were confirmed by another MP who was present during the arrest, but it was of little use. The MP, who was speaking into a megaphone about the visa scandal during Mateusz Morawiecki’s conference, was taken to a police car.,

As former policemen, Dębosz and Potaczek know the perspective of the police like no one in the media. When asked generally about criticism of the services in the media, they replied directly that they were sorry:

It is easy to criticize policemen, point out their incompetence, laugh or mock their behavior. But it’s really hard work. I’m curious how people who easily judge the operation of the uniformed services would behave if they were in their shoes. What we see in the media is only one side of the coin, a fragment of reality. We don’t know what happened before and after, we don’t know the broader context. (…) The orders of superiors must be obeyed. If you don’t do it, the information goes into the report and you are punished. You may even lose your job for this. Sitting on a comfortable sofa in front of the TV, it is easy to comment on someone’s behavior or to confuse someone, said Anna Potaczek in an interview with Plejada.

Maciej Dębosz added that “police officers are not there to be liked, but to be respected.” Unfortunately, the policemen’s superiors do not help, shooting with a “speaker-grenade launcher” at the police station or giving orders for unmarked anti-terrorists to use telescopic batons during the Women’s Strike protests.
