The right-wing campaign against the film “The Green Border” continues. Protesting nationalists appeared before the pre-premiere screenings of the production in front of the Kinoteka in Warsaw and the Kino pod Baranami in Krakow. The Ministry of Interior and Administration also announced that before the screening of “The Green Border” in arthouse cinemas, there will be a special spot that will show Poles how the government cares for their safety by guarding the borders. The Association of Arthouse Cinemas announced that its associated facilities will not broadcast the recording.
PiS presents a new election spot. They referred to “The Green Border”
Agnieszka Holland, in an interview with one of the foreign portals that started writing about the situation in Poland, noted that the “Green Border” has become an element of political squabbles. For weeks, members of the ruling party, led by President Andrzej Duda, have been expressing scandalous opinions about a production they have not even watched.
The latest spot by Law and Justice also refers to the work of Agnieszka Holland. The recording concerns migration policy. We see fragments of statements by Donald Tusk and RafaĆ Trzaskowski, who declared their willingness to help refugees. The video has been manipulated accordingly. When Tusk refers to migrants as “poor people looking for their place on earth”, the recording shows a crowd of people trying to cross the Polish border by force.
“Did they think that Holland’s film would change Poles’ attitude towards illegal migration?”
The description of the recording includes a reference to Agnieszka Holland’s film. “Attention! They are trying to divert attention from the forced relocation of migrants and the consent to demolish the border barrier. Did they think that Holland’s film would change Poles’ attitude towards illegal migration?” – asks the ruling party. There was a flood of comments under the spot with the hashtag “Safe Poland” “Stop Forced Relocation”.
