Henrik Pedersen was proclaimed European under-23 road cycling champion this Friday, September 22. The Dane was the best in the test held in the Netherlands. The Spanish Iván Romeo was second and the french Paul Magnier third.
The cyclists tackled a 136.5 kilometer route separating Hoogeveen and Col du VAM. Pedersen gave his rivals no options and was the first to cross the finish line. Romeo arrived 25 seconds behind the winner and Magnier did it 12 seconds later than the Spaniard.
As far as Basque cyclists are concerned Enekoitz Azparren was 36th at 54 seconds from Pedersen, Igor Arrieta 40º to 55 and Diego Uriarte finished in 83rd place at 6 minutes and 58 seconds of the European champion of the category.
