Agnieszka Holland about the decision of the Ministry of Interior and Administration regarding the spot. “I didn’t know they had an influence on cinemas”

Agnieszka Holland spoke about the decision of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, which ordered the broadcasting of a special spot prepared by the government in all arthouse cinemas before the screening of “The Green Border”. The director is surprised and tells the attack directly.

“” will not hit cinemas until next Friday, but the government already knows how to prepare potential viewers for the screening. On Thursday, the spokeswoman for the Border Guard and the deputy minister of the Ministry of Interior and Administration announced that . It is intended to show “the context of the hybrid operation, the course of this operation and the solution we have introduced to guarantee the security of the Polish state,” said Błażej Poboży, deputy head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.

Naturally, there were also words of criticism towards the film itself, which was called a “disgusting lampoon”, although – let us remind you – the government has not officially had the opportunity to watch “The Green Border” yet. What does Agnieszka Holland think about this?

In an interview with Onet, she was asked what she thought about playing a special, political spot before her film. She didn’t mince her words:

Before anyone saw the movie, they already had an opinion about it. What can I say? This is lawlessness and censorship. I did not receive any information in advance that such a spot would be shown. I don’t know how they imagine it. This should not happen in any democratic country. I expected harassment and reaction, but I didn’t expect they would go so far. This is total lawlessness. I didn’t know they had influence on cinemas. This has never happened before, said the director

before the “Green Border”. The decision of the Ministry of Interior and Administration is said to apply only to “art house cinemas”, which do not include those from the largest chains.
