The visa scandal is electrifying Polish society, and opposition politicians point out that it is the biggest scandal of the 21st century that Poland is facing. The government is completely downplaying the matter, and as reported last week, politicians from the ruling camp have received special instructions on how to answer journalists’ questions. In short, they are supposed to turn the tables and continue attacking Donald Tusk.
Objectivism according to Ewa Bugała: drowning out opposition politicians
It turns out that government television employees could also receive similar recommendations. Although they have been supporting government politicians for many years and whitewashing their wrongdoings, in recent days their ferocity has become much more intense. An example may be the last episode of the journalistic program “Pass twentieth”, hosted by Ewa Bugała.
One of the guests was the vice-president of PSL, Urszula Pasławska. The politician decided to mention the visa scandal, which has also been reported in foreign media for many days. “You could buy a visa for $5,000, that’s what they say…” – said Pasławska, and these are one of the few words that the viewers could hear clearly, because the host very quickly went on the counteroffensive, attacking her.
Bugała interrupted the opposition party MP, aggressively asking her more questions, while not allowing the interlocutor to say a word. Finally, the national television employee couldn’t stand the tension in the studio and accused Pasławska of telling untruths, countering with the words:
You have to tell the truth on Polish Television.
In “thank you” for the help, a PiS politician joined the attack
One of the guests of the program was PiS politician Błażej Poboży, who also decided to launch an attack. “Let me just remind you that we are in election mode and any lie may result in an election trial,” said the undersecretary of state at the Ministry of Interior and Administration, which can be interpreted as an attempt to intimidate Pasławska.
Ewa Bugała, who, along with Magdalena Ogórek, is one of the so-called female faces of TVP Info. Thanks to this, Poboży could continue to attack Pasławska, constantly “correcting” her. When she talked about “information”, he interrupted her and talked about “disinformation”. He also began to suggest that he was watching the wrong channel and “didn’t know what the truth was.”
There was an unimaginable noise in the studio, and viewers of the program certainly didn’t get much out of it. From the recording provided above, it can be concluded that, as the PSL MP noted, the visa scandal is one of the most sensitive points for representatives of the authorities, who find it increasingly difficult to wash their hands of the problem.
