The record company Universal Music recently opened the new Hotel UMusic in Madrid, a five-star holiday alternative that aims to host experienced music lovers as well as the world’s best artists in the Spanish capital. Among them the American band OneRepublic, who performed at the inauguration last Sunday, Ana Guerra, Aitana, Lola Índigo and David Bisbal, who surprised the international guests by speaking in English for fifteen minutes.
Around 20:00 David Bisbal arrived at the Albéniz Theater—which is part of the UMusic Hotel—to speak to the press. “I am very happy to be here. I lived an intense summer, with a wonderful tour,” he first told the audience in Spanish.
Then, to the surprise of the host of the event, David prepared a few words in English.

“I performed here, in this theater, for 20 days in five weeks to celebrate my 20-year career. It was very difficult for me. I had to take good care of my voice. Nevertheless, it was a very good challenge for me. This place is spectacular, which is why it makes sense to build a hotel here. Especially in Madrid, because Spain is a wonderful country. We are in the center of everything,” he said in a completely foreign language.
“For this reason, it seems to me that building a hotel like this is a success. Congratulations (Congratulations) in Universal… And I’ll tell you one thing about this: I’m part of Universal now. I bought shares in the company. And now I have great power. Really,” he said with a laugh.

David Bisbal turns bachatero with his latest release ‘Ay ay ay’
“Look, for example, Sebastián Yatra is on tour. Let’s say it works for me,” he said, causing a big laugh among some present, who couldn’t believe what they were hearing and that in English. “Now Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Fonsi…, they all work for me!” he announced, pointing to the company’s executives.
Of course, the 900 people in the room applauded the singer Bulería. Moreover, one of his closest colleagues. “I don’t have many friends in the music industry. Don’t ask me why. But Pablo López is a real friend,” he said introducing the artist from Fuengirola, who also tried to speak in Spanglish. “Hello everyone! This is amazing’. Everyone here speaks English and I would like to improve mine,” he joked.

For her part, Bisbal’s “employee” Taylor Swift starred in one of the most important weeks of her career so far this month. After touring the United States with a huge show that took place almost every day and sold out dates, the 34-year-old singer just made history in the annals of entertainment again.
At the last edition of the MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor took home the most trophies at the awards, including Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. It is not known whether the singer-songwriter knows anything about the words of David Bisbal. (AND)
