Maybe winning the lottery is the dream of more than one. It is very common to hear: “the day I win the lottery, I will buy this”, “if only I won the lottery, I would”, “how I would love to win the lottery!” Many actually put the solution of their life in the lottery, but not everyone thinks so. This is the debate that opens the work No to money! comedy directed by Sebastian Sánchez Amunategui and in which it is presented Cino Fabiani House, in the Las Peñas neighborhood.

An English lesson led Augusto Enríquez to start in the theater: the actor who loves being at home, his wife Miriam Murillo’s good food and taking care of his plants

“It’s a very acidic comedy, and the humor is exactly the opposite of what you would expect. The reactions are the opposite of what you would expect to make you laugh.”says Sánchez, who enjoys working with the cast Alejandro Fajardo, Iñaki Moreno, Itzel Cuevas and Alejandra Paredes; and produced by Arnaldo Galvez.

“This work challenges the issue of acquisition culture, consumerism and frivolity in an age when you have a lot of money”For his part, Paredes notes.

Ricardo, the main character of the play, has decided to reject the lottery jackpot, and this decision will be communicated to his wife, mother and best friend, who, surprised by his position, will approach him with questions and judge that they could break the deal. bond that Ricardo thought was unbreakable. “He has taken the necessary time to convey this decision,” says Fajardo, who puts himself in the shoes of this man.

Humor is the main driving force that drives the work through various crazy and hilarious scenarios and situations. “It has exciting moments, but they are characters who always go to the extreme, and there people will realize what we can do for money, but then brought to the maximum expression of comedy”says Cuevas, the actress who plays the main character’s mother.

Each of the characters takes the same news in different ways, putting bonds, friendship and family at stake. At this point, Moreno, who personifies Ricardo’s best friend, believes that money can be “revealing your deepest and darkest desires… it is not that you change as a person, but that what you were deep inside is revealed.”.

Cuevas declares that if she won the lottery jackpot, she would fulfill her wish of opening an animal shelter. Meanwhile, Paredes says it would help his social organization. Fajardo and Moreno confirm that they are happy with the little they have. “The gaps cannot be closed with money”Moreno highlights. “If you’re not happy, money won’t make you happy” Cuevas notes. “But it helps,” Paredes concludes with a laugh.

There is a real chemistry between the entire cast, allowing the synergy between them to flow naturally. “It is essential that the rehearsals are this beautiful,” says Moreno.
